Doulton Burslem Art Nouveau Vase, Blue Floral Botanical, Gilt Rim, Artist Signed

This elegant globular vase was produced at Doulton's Burslem factory during the golden age of English art pottery, dating to approximately 1900–1920 as confirmed by the "Burslem England" backstamp predating the "Made in England" designation adopted in later decades. Standing 6.25 inches tall, the piece bears an individual artist's signature, reflecting Doulton's longstanding practice of employing skilled studio painters whose work elevated functional forms into collectible art objects.( 4.25" wide )

The vase presents a softly rounded ovoid form with a narrow collar neck finished with a fine gilt rim in excellent original condition. The decoration features graceful botanical motifs — rendered in underglaze blue against a pale white ground — with naturalistic stems, leaves and flowerheads painted with the confident, fluid brushwork characteristic of Doulton's Burslem art department. Subtle relief texture in the upper body adds dimension and tactile interest.

This piece is in mint condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration. The gilding is intact and the underglaze decoration remains vivid and unfaded. Artist-signed Doulton Burslem art vases from this period are increasingly difficult to source in this state of preservation, as a century of domestic use has claimed the majority of surviving examples.
