This matched pair of Royal Doulton flambé vases dates to 1947 and showcases the distinctive high-fired glaze technique that made Doulton's flambé wares so sought after by collectors. Each vase measures 6.5 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide, with the classic shouldered baluster form and trumpet neck typical of the period.

Flambé glazes were notoriously difficult to control in the kiln, with copper-based pigments producing the deep reds, blacks, and flashes of gold seen here.
