Product Description
This Royal Doulton Blue Children jardinière dates to circa 1910 and is a fine example of one of Doulton's most enduring and collectible decorative series. The Blue Children line featured transfer-printed scenes of Edwardian children and women in pastoral settings, rendered in soft blue and white tones that give the ware its distinctive painterly quality. This jardinière depicts a mother and young child in an outdoor landscape — a characteristic subject for the series, full of period charm.
The bulbous form with flared rim is a classic shape for Doulton jardinières of this period, at 7 inches tall and 8.5 inches wide it's a substantial and impressive piece. The lion-and-crown backstamp dates production to between 1902 and 1922, consistent with the circa 1910 attribution.
The piece is in mint condition with no chips, cracks, or restoration. The transfer decoration is crisp and fully intact, with the characteristic blue tones showing no fading or wear.
