Royal Doulton Cocker Spaniel with Pheasant HN1029

Sale price$95.00 CAD

Royal Doulton Cocker Spaniel with Pheasant HN1029, Small Size, standing 3.75 inches (9.5cm) tall, designed by Frederick Daws, issued 1931-1968. This delightful small-size figurine captures a triumphant Cocker Spaniel with a retrieved pheasant gripped gently in its mouth, rendered in white bone china with rich brown markings and finished with a brilliant high-gloss glaze. The figurine beautifully depicts the breed's characteristic compact build, pendulous ears, and proud hunting posture—a testament to the Cocker Spaniel's legendary skill as one of Britain's most beloved and accomplished gundogs

Each piece was hand-made in bone china at the Burslem factory in Staffordshire and individually hand-decorated by skilled painters, requiring multiple firings to achieve the characteristic white coat with brown markings and the brilliant high-gloss finish. The rich brown coloring on the ears and markings perfectly captures the variety of coat colors seen in working Cockers.

Perfect for collectors of Royal Doulton dogs, Cocker Spaniel enthusiasts, gundog history, sporting art, British hunting heritage, and anyone who appreciates Britain's smallest but most spirited gundog—the remarkable little hunting machine whose enthusiasm and skill have captivated sportsmen for centuries.

This example is in mint condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The white and brown glazes are vibrant and lustrous, and the high-gloss finish remains perfect throughout.
