Royal Doulton Figures of Williamsburg Complete Set of Nine — HN 2154–2240
The Figures of Williamsburg is one of Royal Doulton's most historically significant series, introduced in 1960 to commemorate the ongoing restoration of Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia — the 18th-century capital of the English colony. Modelled by the celebrated Peggy Davies, all nine figures were produced in English fine bone china from 1960 to 1983, depicting the tradespeople and residents who defined colonial life: the Blacksmith (HN 2240), the Boy From Williamsburg (HN 2183), Child From Williamsburg (HN 2154), Gentleman From Williamsburg (HN 2227), Hostess of Williamsburg (HN 2209), Lady From Williamsburg (HN 2228), Royal Governor's Cook (HN 2233), Silversmith of Williamsburg (HN 2208), and the Wigmaker of Williamsburg (HN 2239).
Assembled complete sets are exceptionally rare on the secondary market. Each figure is presented in excellent condition, authenticated with Royal Doulton backstamp and HN number to base, consistent with production from the 1960–1983 issue period. A singular opportunity for the advanced collector or institution.
