Bilbo Baggins, the hobbit at the heart of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit, from Royal Doulton’s Middle Earth series. He stands barefoot, as hobbits do, on a textured rocky base. He’s dressed in a long dark brown coat over a yellow waistcoat and burgundy breeches.

Designed by David Lyttleton and issued from 1980 to 1984, the Middle Earth figures had a short run, which makes them sought after by Tolkien and Doulton collectors alike. Bilbo is the hobbit who found the One Ring and later passed it to his nephew Frodo. He’s a natural centrepiece for a Middle Earth collection.
