Royal Doulton Figurine Fortune Teller HN2159

Sale price$225.00 CAD

Fortune Teller (HN2159) was designed by Leslie Harradine and issued by Royal Doulton from 1955 to 1967, standing 6.5 inches tall. Part of the Professions series, the figure presents a gypsy woman seated at her draped table, crystal ball before her, playing cards at her side, the tablecloth painted with signs of the Zodiac. Her rose-coloured dress and green shawl are rendered in Harradine's characteristically rich, dappled hand-painting — a figure that rewards close examination the longer you look at it.

Harradine, who designed for Royal Doulton for over four decades, brought particular life to character studies like this one. The Fortune Teller captures not just a costume but a presence — the knowing stillness of someone who makes a living from mystery. It is one of the more atmospheric figures in the Professions series, combining strong visual drama with meticulous surface detail.

The twelve-year production run ended in 1967, and Fortune Teller HN2159 has never been reissued. It remains a consistently sought-after piece among Professions series collectors and commands strong prices in the current secondary market. Fully insured shipping across Canada with tracking.
