Royal Doulton Figurine Scarlette Ohara HN4200

Sale price$395.00 CAD

Scarlett O'Hara (HN4200) was designed by Valerie Annand and issued from 1999 to 2000 as part of Royal Doulton's Classic Movies Collection — the Gone with the Wind series produced under official licence from Turner Entertainment Co. and the Stephens Mitchell Trusts. Standing 9 inches tall, it is a serial numbered limited edition, each piece individually hand-numbered, and the two-year production window makes it one of the shorter-run pieces in the Classic Movies range.

The figure depicts Scarlett in the most celebrated costume in the film — the green velvet gown fashioned from the curtains of Tara, dark green overdress over a green-gold underskirt, with matching headpiece. It is the dress that defines a scene: Scarlett descending the staircase at Tara to confront Rhett Butler, wearing curtains and pretending she has wanted for nothing. Annand rendered the richness of the velvet, the weight of the fabric and the architectural drama of the gown with the quality of finish that made her one of Doulton's most sought-after modellers of the period.

The cross-market appeal of HN4200 is exceptional. It draws buyers from the Royal Doulton collecting community, from Gone with the Wind collectors who pursue every licensed piece the film has generated across eight decades, and from the broader cinema memorabilia market. The combination of official licensing, Annand's modelling, serial numbering, and a genuinely short production run keeps demand consistent and the piece well above the level of generic character figures.
