The Guardsman (HN2784) was issued by Royal Doulton from 1992 to 1995, standing 9.75 inches tall. The figure presents one of Britain's most iconic images — a Household Guards soldier in full ceremonial scarlet tunic and bearskin cap, rendered with the exacting attention to uniform detail that Royal Doulton brought to its military character studies. Bolt upright in the traditional guardsman's pose, the piece has both the formal gravity of its subject and the warmth of hand-painted bone china at its finest.

The Household Guards have been a recurring subject for Royal Doulton across both figurines and character jugs, and with good reason — few images are more immediately recognisable to collectors on both sides of the Atlantic.
